I’ve been teaching IB English for over eight years, working with both HL and SL students on Literature and Language & Literature. My lessons focus on writing stronger essays, developing clear interpretations and preparing confidently for Paper 1, Paper 2 and the Individual Oral. I also enjoy helping students shape thoughtful Extended Essays without losing their own voice.

Hi! I’m an English tutor who likes making difficult texts feel much less intimidating. I spend a lot of time helping students unpack poetry, novels and unseen extracts before we move into essay writing. We work through real IB questions together, and I always encourage students to explain ideas in their own words instead of memorising model answers.

My background is in English literature and academic writing, and I have specialised in IB English for the past six years. I regularly support students with the Individual Oral, HL Essay and examination papers, paying close attention to structure and textual evidence. Lessons are adapted to each student's strengths, whether they need detailed analysis or help organising their ideas.

I started tutoring while studying at university and quickly realised I loved working one-to-one. IB English became my main focus because every student approaches literature differently. Some sessions are spent comparing texts, others are all about improving introductions or refining commentary. Seeing writing become more natural over time is my favourite part of the job.

I am an experienced IB English tutor with a strong interest in literary criticism and modern fiction. Alongside exam preparation, I guide students through close reading techniques, comparative essays and Internal Assessment planning. Many of my students seek support in balancing creativity with the analytical style expected by IB examiners.

Most of the students I teach come to me because they feel stuck with essays. We usually start by talking through the text before writing anything, which helps ideas come more naturally. I enjoy discussing plays and short stories, and I always leave time at the end of lessons to review feedback from school so nothing gets missed before exams.
